Mix in your favorite t-shirt

One of our favorite ways to celebrate the weekend is throwing on our favorite tee. Something is comforting and relaxing about slipping into one of our favorite t-shirts for some weekend fun. Tees usually express how we feel and represent our tastes in music, movies, etc. They let us convey our beliefs and practices, whether they be political, spiritual, or religious.

Graphic tees, for example, are the epitome of a sartorial statement. You can easily communicate your taste in music or express your fascination with occult clothing and bring out a cooler and edgier style. The best part about graphic tees is that you can mix and match them with whatever you like since they don’t necessarily have to be combined with specific pieces like jeans and sneakers.

Keep it simple

Bear in mind that overthinking can ruin a good outfit. So, try to keep it simple by mixing pieces you feel good wearing. Look at the likes of Chloë Sevigny or Jane Birkin who make even the easiest of items such as a white tee, translate to chic. It’s all about simplicity and being original. Note that just a simple tweak- a pair of shorts, or a straw basket- is enough to make your look pop.

A few simple pieces of clothing, for example, can give you the basics to be creative. A white t-shirt, a pair of mid-length hoop earrings, and red lipstick are all you need to deliver an elegant and chic style. Think about the originals such as Levi’s for jeans, Polo for simple tees, or Vans for sneakers. They can be just what you need for a great weekend-ready combo.

Be open to trends

Staying open to clothing trends is how you keep it modern. Stroll through the shops and try a trend to know if it will work for you. It’s worth purchasing something if you feel comfortable and like yourself when you put it on. Additionally, don’t forget to shop your own closet since trends are nothing if not recurrent. Although, you can always switch things up when it comes to fashion trends.

For example, the high-waisted jeans you wore with heels can look brand new when you switch to sneakers. It’s worth watching trends and seeing whether it has the potential to go beyond a season. Recent examples include the tracksuit bottoms or the midi-dress. However, if you don’t feel like wearing something, never force yourself. Wear what feels good, and that’s how you’ll look good.

Accessorize

Note that accessories can be quite a game-changer. A pair of statement earrings, a new belt for your not-so-new skinny jeans, or a classic single-strand pearl necklace, might be just what you need to complete your look. This is also another trick where ‘keep it simple’ works. You can also pile on accessories and you’ll feel and look brand new.

The trick to wearing accessories is knowing how to combine and position them the right way. You don’t want to look like a Christmas tree putting on everything you find trendy. Depending on your outfit choice, you can go for a minimalistic set of earrings and a necklace, or if you want to put an accent on your jewelry go for large earrings and a ring.

Fashion trends are all about mixing and matching different looks. If you’re not keen on experimenting, don’t stray from your style. However, if you’re willing to try out something new do it with caution. Find inspiration from celebrities, models, and other popular individuals to get an idea. Ultimately, it’s much better to listen to your inner voice when browsing clothes. Think less about trends and more about how it makes you feel and how they will work with the rest of your closet.
