🎂 Yesterday we had a very successful family party for Isla’s birthday. 🥳

Isla and I made her watermelon themed cake, we baked scones and a zillion sandwiches. It was so nice to have everyone around, as we haven’t done that for years. I think there was 16 of us in total!

I love decorating the table for an Afternoon Tea. It always looks so pretty. I used the Garden Party in a box from @lucydarlingshop.

All the sandwiches went down a treat. We had cheese, ham, chicken, egg mayo and tuna mayo! I’ve rekindled my love for a cheese & pickle…

All the purple 💜

Over the last couple of weeks my garden has transformed from this array of green to beautiful pops of colour. Lots of action at the moment.

The Californian Lilac is in full swing (which always performs well for Isla’s birthday and is now known as Isla’s birthday tree to us. The Aquilegia dancing in front of it too!

The Peony and Allium have made their appearance in the last few days and I can see my yellow roses out. The other rose bushes are nearly ready.

The Rhododendrons are just amazing. The light pink one is currently in flower. The red one has finished already and I’m awaiting the dark pink to start popping open any day now.

I’ve been sitting in the garden for the last hour just soaking up the beauty and watching the birds. It’s been wonderful.

🌳 I would love to live in the countryside, by vast woodlands & coastal paths. It’s the dream. However, I forget just how much beauty there is just outside my door.

This little woodland, for example, is full of life & only a 30 second walk from my house. I find it calming & I just love taking slow walks through here. Listening to the birds!

I’ve promised myself to get more steps in, and appreciate natures little pockets that I live near. After all, it can only make me appreciate the countryside whenever we do find our dream home.

Making memories 🥳

This was Isla’s first family selfie using her birthday present. She loves taking photos and I can see her following in Daddy’s footsteps when she’s older. She’s very creative.

We’ve managed to spread out Isla’s birthday celebrations over an 8 day period. Perfect if you ask me. She’s loved it!

And she’s jumping into her birthday like…

💙💗 We had a super fun time at the trampoline park tonight, hot dogs and slushies. Cupcakes and sweets. Then to the park to burn off the sugar high and cool them down a little.

It was lovely to see them all playing and having fun… Isla loved it. I learn so much from her, how to let go and how to have fun. She’s my little ⭐️.

I cannot believe my baby is 10 tomorrow 😭 I want my baby girl back with her diddy feet.

Smiles all round today! We went wild at @gulliversfun to celebrate Islas’s 10th birthday (on Tuesday). She said it was the best day, about eleventy billion times… which is amazing and had a beaming smile all day.

We didn’t queue for anything longer than 25 minutes, which was awesome, as that 25 minutes felt forever on some rides. Namely because the kiddies bickered. But as soon as we got to the rides, it’s like it was all forgotten 🤪

Isla tried her first big girl rides: pirate ship & roller coasters etc. She loved the pirate ship. Noah went on his first ride that throws you upside down. He absolutely loved it. And daddy and I went on far more rides than we would have liked…. The crane in the first of the photos for example (Daddy doesn’t like heights 😱). I got to go on the log flume a few times too, that’s my favourite.

We had lots of fun! Great idea Daddy… it’s so nice when you can just see how grateful she is, just by looking at her face!

My favourite skies are deep with blue and white fluffy clouds scattered about too. I visualise patterns and shapes in the clouds just for fun… it’s amazing this planet that lives under the sun!

I’m doing my bit to look after the planet; walking where I can, compost, I don’t eat meat or fish, using less water and getting rid of single use plastic.

I want to keep seeing the beautiful views and making cloud patterns and shapes. Do you do that when the sky is full of white fluffy clouds?

A long time ago in a galaxy, far, far away… there was an epic game of @rumbleliveactiongaming with a Star Wars twist! Perfect themed weekend to celebrate May 4th… the force was strong with this one!

We love Rumble and this time it had a Star Wars theme which made it feel extra special. The characters looked brilliant, really authentic costumes. There was Star Wars music playing throughout the game. The guns had all been renamed to Star Wars characters and the missions were all themed around the movies too.

It was so much fun. The kids loved it and so did us grown ups… you can see Daddy getting into it in photo 5 🤪

They do themed Rumble throughout the year, from Halloween to Easter. Normal Rumble is open every weekend and all school holidays too… keep an eye on their website for special themed events.

At just £15pp for an hour of live action gaming, you can’t go wrong! It’s brilliant fun for all the family. (Or kids birthday parties).

We love it so much that we do go regularly, as paying customers too! It’s brilliant fun.

With it being my little babies 10th birthday in one week, it’s making me reflect on all the fun adventures and activities we’ve had over the years.

This is one of my favourite photos from April 2015. Isla was not quite 4 here and Noah is 5. They’re soo tiny. I remember Noah trying to explain to Isla what they’d be doing back at the holiday cottage.

They’ve always been very active. In fact I think they were more active when they were younger! 😂

Our Sunday looked a lot like this. A lovely dog walk in the woods and beautiful villages. Chocolate box cottages and wild animals everywhere.

We even saw low flying planes at the Shuttleworth Air Show. It was amazing.

3 generations out on our walk today; Nanna, me, my sister & Isla. There was also 3 generations of doggy!

We had a quick pub stop for a drink and back to Nanna’s for a yummy roast dinner.

I love walking. I wish I could walk and explore all day everyday. Fresh air and beautiful scenery!
