A throwback to 4 years ago… an impromptu moment where the kids had been given balloons 🎈

We stopped in this field, with the buttercup blooms and sunshine setting… it was a beautiful scene.

They had me in stitches laughing at Daddy, who was encouraging them to smile for photos.

I love this photo. I remember them being so happy they had the balloons.

Do you ever look back at old photos and reminisce?

I think this might be my new favourite view… onboard my SUP! 🔵🔴

After 4.5 hours of paddling yesterday, on my first paddleboarding adventure, my thighs and shoulders have decided to disown me today. But, no pain no gain.

I’m looking forward to taking her out on some shorter trips, in the golden hours and taking a book to read on my pitstop.

I have learnt how to get the SUP inflated and deflated, I managed to fold it up into its bag too! It’s like getting a tent back in its original packaging- it never goes back exactly how it came out! 😂

My top tip for any SUP beginners is to find a slow moving river or lake to practice without a strong current.

A little reel of my first paddleboard trip along the river. On my very own beautiful paddleboard too! It was meant to be pink, but the red and blue is perfect. We paddled for 4 hours in total, around the river in Cambridgeshire.

We stopped at Houghton Lock for a picnic and it was so peaceful. I love being out on the river. Albeit I was quite nervous I would fall in, I didn’t. Phew.

I did a combo of stand up paddleboarding, kneeling and sitting to get a rowing rhythm going when I needed it. The wind was against us on the way, which felt hard. But it helped on the way back.

I’m in love with days like this. So beautiful and I felt present, watching the dragonflies, butterflies and even the otters. It’s such a wonderful activity to practice mindfulness and also a spot of yoga. Lots of Table Top positions!

I can’t wait to get out on the river again! Have you tried paddleboarding before?

Devon you were amazing ☀️ We try to get down to North Devon at least once a year. We love the beaches and the beautiful villages along that stretch of coastline.

It was a great week of family time, lots of sun and sea. We felt like we had gone to Spain with the weather. Daddy and the kids camped the week before and had a stunning week of sunshine too.

I managed to read two books and I even went for a swim in the sea 😂 It was nice to have a week of doing not much.

It took us 6 hours to get home. My road trip consisted of multiple stops though as I had the dogs with me. So, I didn’t think it was that bad. Yes, I know it’s quicker to get to actual Spain 😂

Have you ever been down to Devon?

The views yesterday were absolutely stunning. Woolacoombe you didn’t disappoint.

The sea was so calm, which I loved but the kiddies wanted waves to bodyboard through. I actually went in the sea. It was quite warm in the shallows.

As the sun reached near its setting place the reflection on the sea was mesmerising. I could have sat there all evening.

More beach days please 🙏🏻 Have you been to the beach this Summer?

Relaxing on the road – it is possible!

Relaxing on the road – it is possible!

Any experienced traveller will tell you that travelling requires a certain level of stamina, especially when out on the road. Whether you’re recovering from jetlag, feeling the impact of all those late nights, all the activities, the heat, the stress and trying not to miss your connecting flights to new destinations it’s not always easy to catch your breath! Driving Safety checklist for tyres & road

Driving Safety checklist for tyres & road

Driving safety is crucial as even the slightest ignorance can cause serious road trouble. During a prolonged sunny spell, several aspects of a car’s performance can suffer. You will probably use more motor oil in the summer than in the winter, for example. In addition, the car battery may suffer if you use the air-conditioning for longer periods than you would at other times of the year. VIEW the POST

Keeping your little ones safe in the car #RoadSafetyWeek #Kiddicare

This week is road safety week, 21st to 27th November, and Kiddicare asked me to think about what that means to me. It made me think back to when I had my car accident: two years ago now. Luckily the children were not in the car, but did you know that you still have to replace the car seats? Recently the child booster seat law changed indicating that booster seats are now not as safe. This meant when I replaced the car seats I was able to get the right seats and keep the children safe!

Tips for keeping the family safe on the road this Winter

Tips for keeping the family safe on the road this Winter

Winter is that time of year when the roads are slippy and icy, also there is the chance of drivers being sleepy due to long journeys and of course, there is always that element of road rage. Keeping the family safe could be as easy as avoiding the things that annoy us the most: driving whilst using a phone or tailgating for example. It really is this simple - don't do it.  VIEW the POST

Do I take responsibility for my vehicle?

Do I take responsibility for my vehicle?

Yes! Especially after the horrible accident last month, I am still trying to get my head around that and one of the big questions I asked myself was what if? What if the tyres had been bald? What if the tyres were cheap and weak? Would they have exploded causing more damage to my car? Would they have made me skid further into the car infront, causing them more damage? Mumsnet recently carried out a survey to find out what us women know about their tyres and Michelin came up with some pretty awesome myth busting facts that may have some answers to my questions.
