A little reel of my first paddleboard trip along the river. On my very own beautiful paddleboard too! It was meant to be pink, but the red and blue is perfect. We paddled for 4 hours in total, around the river in Cambridgeshire.

We stopped at Houghton Lock for a picnic and it was so peaceful. I love being out on the river. Albeit I was quite nervous I would fall in, I didn’t. Phew.

I did a combo of stand up paddleboarding, kneeling and sitting to get a rowing rhythm going when I needed it. The wind was against us on the way, which felt hard. But it helped on the way back.

I’m in love with days like this. So beautiful and I felt present, watching the dragonflies, butterflies and even the otters. It’s such a wonderful activity to practice mindfulness and also a spot of yoga. Lots of Table Top positions!

I can’t wait to get out on the river again! Have you tried paddleboarding before?

Devon you were amazing ☀️ We try to get down to North Devon at least once a year. We love the beaches and the beautiful villages along that stretch of coastline.

It was a great week of family time, lots of sun and sea. We felt like we had gone to Spain with the weather. Daddy and the kids camped the week before and had a stunning week of sunshine too.

I managed to read two books and I even went for a swim in the sea 😂 It was nice to have a week of doing not much.

It took us 6 hours to get home. My road trip consisted of multiple stops though as I had the dogs with me. So, I didn’t think it was that bad. Yes, I know it’s quicker to get to actual Spain 😂

Have you ever been down to Devon?

The views yesterday were absolutely stunning. Woolacoombe you didn’t disappoint.

The sea was so calm, which I loved but the kiddies wanted waves to bodyboard through. I actually went in the sea. It was quite warm in the shallows.

As the sun reached near its setting place the reflection on the sea was mesmerising. I could have sat there all evening.

More beach days please 🙏🏻 Have you been to the beach this Summer?

It’s not quite the Devonshire coast, but it’s not bad for on my doorstep. Whilst Hubby has been in the sea all day with the kids, we’ve been chilling in the evening sun.

It was nice in the park as it’s soo open. The breeze cooled us down. I sat there with the dogs & it felt like we were on our own in the park. No one around. So peaceful.

Did you get out in the sun today?

Keeping in touch with your faraway friends

Keeping in touch with your faraway friends

Nobody would have imagined we’d still be dealing with social distancing and lockdowns now when the coronavirus first entered our lives. But while we wait for vaccines and things to improve, meeting up with many of our friends and family and travel plans are on hold. While you might not be able to physically meet with your friends and family, there are plenty of ways of keeping in touch with them and show them that you care.  VIEW the POST

8 Things the pandemic has made me appreciate this year

It’s almost a year since the coronavirus pandemic struck the entire world and closed off our borders. Instead of a globalised world, the start of the new decade ushered in a regression of nations, where people get slowly killed off by a virus that we never saw coming. Despite this gloomy outlook, of course, we can’t deny how the pandemic has allowed us to adapt and grow inward and reflect on the life we had and currently have amid everything that’s been going on. 5 Tips to get kids used to wearing face masks

Despite promises that warmer weather would help eliminate the virus, the COVID-19 pandemic doesn’t show any signs of slowing down in the United States. As a result, more and more people are wearing cloth face masks in public to slow the spread of the virus, and that should include kids over the age of two — especially when school starts back up again in the Autumn, at least in places where kids will be required to attend classes in person. We had to wear face masks at hospital last weekend and one thing that jumped into mind was how big it was on Noah. Making sure it is the right size is essential.
