🧙‍♀️ Yay we finally made time to watch the new Hocus Pocus 2 movie and we absolutely loved it! It was a great way to kick off the countdown to Halloween.

It was also the perfect opportunity to road test my new mug… which I absolutely adore.

I’ve started to get the Autumn and Halloween decor out of the attic. The living room always feels full and homely at this time of year.

Two questions:

👀 Have you noticed my little visitor to the living room?

🎥 Have you watched the new movie, what did you think? 🍿

May your autumn be full of blue skies and cool walks… bobble hats and family talks.
Fresh air in your lungs and a crunch at your feet… where the working week ends and the weekends meet!

I hope you had a lovely weekend and got out in the fresh air. I needed a chilled weekend and I feel refreshed for the week ahead. I need to get a good fitness routine going which I’m hoping to start tomorrow 🍂

🍂 So it might just be time for the bobble hats to come out of hiding… anyone else live in hats during the colder months?

It’s been so nice to wrap up in layers of cosy jumpers, boots and jackets this week. I love “sweater weather” so much! If that made you laugh, then you’re my kinda people.

What is your go to Autumnal outfit? I’m in the need for inspiration 🍂

If I was a….

This took me forever to make but I loved doing it. I love being creative and I learnt to use CapCut which Isla absolutely loves. She squealed when I showed her this.

I have the template (which I might blog about as the one I followed wasn’t quite accurate) and I have a few sneaky ways of doing things!

I’ve loved seeing everyone else’s version of this and so I had to do my own! And I wouldn’t change a thing…

What would you be? 🥰

Is there anything more relaxing and calming than this view? The sun setting over the sea and the calmness in the sea too.

Made me smile looking back at my Summer photos today. I’ve had a day of “cosy” as I drank far too much last night at my friends 40th party… I danced all night and walked home with bare feet. The signs of a good night!

I’ve not been out and danced in years. I literally can’t remember the last time I did that! It was a nice break from being Mum & Dad. Letting your hair down is sometimes the best medicine from a stressful few weeks.

What do you do to unwind?

I think it’s really important to love the space where you work, for you spend a long time working in it! When designing my home office area I kept thinking about what makes me happy…

I wanted a space dedicated to my desk. After working on makeshift spaces for 2 years it felt so nice to have a dedicated work space.

I wanted to be by the garden window so I can see the flowers and watch nature about it’s business. I have seen lots of birds and a few squirrels this Spring and Summer.

I wanted the right storage too. Working from home, studying and the blog all result in lots of things I need to put away. I wanted them to have a home. I’ve got the Kallax unit from IKEA with cupboards, drawers and box storage. It’s perfect!

I’ve been doing a bit of a Autumn clean in preparation for the impending season. I love Autumn, it’s my favourite and I want to start it with a clutter free office area (and mind too).

Anyone else feel more productive if their environment is less cluttered?

Make the digital era safe for your kids with mobile phone parental control tools

Make the digital era safe for your kids with mobile phone parental control tools

Kids who are born at this age do not need to learn technology. They open their eyes in the face of it and by the time they are toddlers they know how to swipe and take pictures from these phones and other digital devices. When they get older it is like second nature for them. But as these devices have facilitated many things, they also come with various troubles especially for kids who are vulnerable and naïve. Is it safe? Dangerous social media trends, online predation, anonymous chatting, games and sexting apps and cyber bullying and the internet addiction are the reasons child safety experts recommend supervision and monitoring of children’s digital activities. It is necessary to observe and make sure that they act responsibly and safely.VIEW the POST

A social media break: alternate activities to keep teens engaged

We recently went away with a family who had an older child, not quite teens but it made me think about what can do over the coming years to stop the dependency on devices. At 6, Noah is very much a tablet or Xbox child, but thankfully he is just as happy to go out for a bike ride or swimming. As much as teens love spending time online, it’s wise to remember that too much of a good thing isn’t always good. Social media has made it easier to find lost friends and relatives, but the constant sharing of personal information and the ability to get it on demand has led to other problems like cyberbullying, anxiety and depression. Fortunately, there are ways to prevent your kids from getting too dependent on this phenomenon. Here are some alternate activities you can get your teens involved in.
