Today me and Isla had a nice morning at Wyevale garden centre in Huntingdon, where we made some yummy goodies in the little bug bakery for their Wildlife Week courtesy of Little Diggers. We had so much fun.
First of all Isla and all the other children had a spoon each and they mixed up their ingredients in a big mixing bowl. Butter, caster sugar, flour, vanilla and squashed flys (sultanas). The chef came over to inspect their mixing and said it was very good, he then took it back to the kitchen and gave it a big mix in the machine.

When he came back, the mixture was perfect for biscuits and then Isla moulded hers into a biscuit shape. Isla chose a heart. The chef then took it back to the kitchen and baked them.

Whilst the biscuits were baking, Isla decorated two cupcakes. One as a spider and one as a lady bird. They looked delicious.

Isla had the most fun eating all the mixtures I think! Afterwards, Isla grabbed herself a kiddie lunch which was fantastic. A wobbly jelly, grapes, sandwich, smoothie and a yoghurt. She was over the moon. It was a great morning and Isla really loved it.

The rest of the week is made up of another little bug bakery tomorrow and decorate your own bird box on Friday, tickets are still available: www.wyevalegardencentres.co.uk/wildlife-week.
