Instinct is a new drama on Sky Witness that is based around NYPD and a former CIA agent. First impressions, after about 5 minutes of episode one, I knew I would like it as it reminds me of Elementary. Another of my faves. It started on 23 August 2018 and it is on every Thursday at 9pm. General overview
This show is fantastic, each episode is a new investigation, a new set of clues that NYPD detective Lizzie has to fathom out. Over the first few episodes you get to see why Lizzie doesn’t have a partner on the job but Dr Dylan Reinhart soon comes to her rescue. They make a very good team with his ability to profile sociopaths and her great detective skills. With their quick qips and unlikely pairing, these two will instantly become your new favourite crime-fighting duo!
Although Dylan has returned to teaching, Lizzie calls upon his expertise with profiling sociopaths to assist with a bizarre case in which a venture capitalist was murdered and his body ritualistically displayed.
Main characters
So far, we have met Lizzie, the NYPD detective who has had some troubles in her life – that she is still overcoming. She has a cute dog called Gary, who means more to her than meets the eye. Then we have Dr Dylan Reinhard, the former CIA agent who has connections all over New York and is a genius. He profiles sociopaths, he’s very clever. I would absolutely love to have that job and those skills. Dylan’s partner, Andrew, is also in the show quite a lot – he is a former lawyer who has opened his own business and is a huge support to Dylan. They make a cute pair.

Summary
Three episodes in and I have learnt a lot about the main characters, how they have come together and you get to know a bit more about them each time we meet them. Which is nice. For example in episode three you meet Lizzie’s sister. Each episode is a new crime and I love trying to work out who did it before Dr. Dylan Reinhart – I never do!
