Cleaning the home is something we all cannot do without. Regardless, it may not always be a fun chore for many people. Therefore, anything to help clean easier and faster is very welcome. Are you wondering how to keep your home tidy without too much stress? Below are a few cleaning hacks you surely want to try!

  1. Use baking soda and vinegar to unclog your sink

The fun part of this is, you do not need to run out to buy anything because you most likely have baking soda and vinegar somewhere in the house. All you need to do is pour out a half cup of baking soda into the sink and flush it down with one cup of vinegar, then you’re all done and you’ve saved yourself some plumbing money.

  1. Remove carpet stains with white wine

Firstly, you want to blot the stain out a bit, and then use white wine on the area, and you’re guaranteed that it works fast. If white wine is unavailable, rubbing alcohol or clear vodka should do the trick.

  1. Clear up your glass surfaces using shaving cream

Yes, you read right; shaving cream! Smear your stained glass with some shaving cream and let it sit for about 15 minutes, and then wipe it off to expose a stain-free surface.

  1. Use baking soda to freshen up your carpets

All you need to do is mix up a cup of baking soda and about ten drops of any essential oil of your choice. Sprinkle the mixture all over your carpets and let that sit for about an hour, then vacuum thoroughly. Alternatively, you can install solid wood flooring which gets cleaned so easily in just one quick mop up.

  1. Clean the microwave with lemon oil

In the absence of lemon oil, you can use any other essential oil of your choice. Add up about fifteen drops of lemon oil (essential oil of your choosing) into one and a half cups of water. Put the mixture into a microwave-safe bowl and heat for about five to ten minutes. Then allow the steam to condense on the inside of the microwave and wipe with a sponge.

  1. Use lemon oil to degrease your stovetop and oven

Aside from the pleasant fragrance, lemon oil naturally helps to degrease and can be a handy tool for removing stubborn grease stains.

Firstly, mix up one cup of water with one cup of vinegar and some lemon essential oil drops. Spray the mixture onto your stovetop and wipe it clean.

For tougher stains, sprinkle some baking soda first onto the surface, spray the mixture and wipe down. This works well for both stovetops and ovens. A great way to keep the home tidy, especially after baking!

  1. Freshen up your mattress with baking soda and vinegar

Unlike our bed spreads, pillowcases, etc., our mattresses will not fit into our washing machines, even though we would like to keep them fresh to avoid dust mites and dead skin cells. Are you wondering how you can keep your mattress fresh without ruining its quality? To achieve this, spray first with vinegar and then sprinkle baking soda over stains. Put a towel in place to let it sit for about two hours and vacuum over the mattress for a final clean.

These hacks could also be used anywhere outside the home, including offices since these places need to be kept clean too. A clean environment keeps us and our loved ones safe and in good health. How do you keep your home tidy? I would love to know in the comments below.
