Updating some trim is very easy to do and while wood is a very popular choice, you do have to remember that there are probably some affordable options out there that you can take advantage of. If you have areas that are very humidity-prone, such as your bathroom, then you may want to opt for PVC instead. PVC crown molding is a very good investment and you would be surprised at how easy it is for you to get the finish you want and at a price you can afford.

Update your Cabinets
Another thing you need to do is try and update your cabinets. The kitchen is often seen as being the heart of the home, and upgrading it doesn’t have to cost a fortune at all. If you want to get a fresh look then update your cabinets but don’t replace them. New cabinets are very costly and one of the best ways for you to change that would be for you to add some new knobs and pulls. You can change the whole look of the kitchen by doing this and you can even paint your kitchen if you want a bit of a bigger overhaul. Either way, by doing this, you are bound to be able to get the DIY result you’re going for.
Install a Filter
Another thing you can do is install a water filter. Many households have changed to bottled water but at the end of the day, having a water filter is just as good. The money you spend on the filter can be recouped as you won’t have to buy bottled water in the future, so try and keep that in mind. If you want to install your water filter or if you’d like to undertake any kind of plumbing work then you need to have the right tools. You can usually find tools for sale online, and this is a great way for you to make sure that the job is going to go smoothly.
Get a Vent
Another thing you need to do is try and get a vent. A vent fan is a very good way for you to transform your bathroom and when you do, you can feel confident knowing that you can get the result you want without breaking the bank. A bathroom vent will also aerate the room, helping to keep it smelling nice and fresh. If your bathroom smells musty then this is a very good upgrade and it should solve the problem without any issues at all. You may also find that this adds value to your home, so keep that in mind.
