We had such a fun day at Newmarket Racecourse for the annual Moet & Chandon July festival, which is taking place between 11-13 July 2019. We were invited to the family enclosure with our very own picnic to enjoy the races and have lots of family fun. And, we did!

The family enclosure

There is so much to do in the family enclosure, face painting, bouncy castle, connect 4 and big diced games to name a few. The kids had great fun playing in the park too whilst the grown ups watched out for the horses, to see who won. There is on average 20-30 minutes between each race, so entertaining the children is essential.

It costs only for the adult tickets to get into the family enclosure as under 18’s go free. Not only that but you can take your own picnics into the enclosure – so that means your own food and drinks. Which means you can take the food that your children enjoy and control the cost of your day from the get go.

There is so much for the children to do in the family enclosure: we had so much fun! I love the fact we can sit and take a huge picnic in with us too.

The home of horseracing

I feel quite privileged to live near Newmarket, where the home of horseracing is: Newmarket Racecourse. I always thought it was a grand event that kiddies couldn’t go to – so it was nice to find out that the family enclosure existed. We have been a few times and the children have always had fun. This was the first time we had been during the Moet & Chandon July Festival though!

We won 3 races, I was so surprised – we came home with a £20 profit. Frankie Dettori came in for us with a win!

There is a lot going on at Newmarket Racecourse in 2019, you can see the events list on the website but the ones that stood out to me are: School’s Out For the Summer (27th July), Peaky Blinders Raceday (3rd August) and The Greatest Show (24th August). Do you have plans to go to the races this Summer?
