This is one way to cool off... daddy went on a bik

This is one way to cool off... daddy went on a bike ride and came back hot & sweaty. So the kiddies cooled him down with their new super water pistols. They are fab and the water travels about 7 metres. Daddy did have great pleasure in turning the hosepipe on them. He got them back!

We’ve had a nice day in the garden, #together as a family. My Mumma popped over with her partner to see us (as Hubby’s birthday is on Tuesday) and we had an afternoon with Hubby’s family.

It was so nice to chill in the garden after a long week of activities I think the kids needed it. We’ve got a busy week of walking, snuggling and celebrating Hubby’s birthday. I’m so excited to get my hair done on Thursday too. Woohoo!

We have had a very impromptu afternoon and evening

We have had a very impromptu afternoon and evening in Cambridge, it’s been lovely. We walked alongside the river, watching the punts and people jumping into the river.

I love this area at Sheep’s Green (which ironically is full of cattle) they’ve added this stream that flows off the river. It’s to help oxygenate the water for the fishes. The kids love exploring it.

The bit where they are standing says there are fishes swimming underneath you. Yes they are in their pants. Of course then went in. Nothing like a cold dip in the river to cool down after a hot and muggy day.

We walked into the city and had our family meal at Pizza Express. We had the roof terrace to ourselves which was amazing. We went out to celebrate Islas birthday from May, and hubby’s birthday which is on Tuesday. We go to Pizza Express for all our birthdays. It’s our thing! It was nice to eat out as a family again.

It was nice to #chill and people watch. Do you like to people watch?

Well, the lights work! I love the #evening during

Well, the lights work! I love the #evening during the Summer nights where you can sit outside and watch the wildlife around us. We watched the bat on this evening, it was a few nights ago.

I have been trying to work out how to get outdoor lighting, without installing lights.

I got some bright white outdoor fairy lights and I have trailed them along the edge of the fence. So when we are sitting at the corner sofa, it gives a nice light behind.

You can make out the white glow if you look to the bottom of the fence. I will be looking for some more solar lighting, it just looks so lovely when the lights come on.

We’ve had a nice day, #outdoor and fresh air all

We’ve had a nice day, #outdoor and fresh air all day. We hired a canoe from Wroxham and had planned to row to a pub on the river. The pub was roughly 2 hours away (when rowing) and so we thought we could do it. We got 2 hours in and realised we were actually nowhere near! 🤣 So, we stopped for lunch and made our way back again.

It was so nice being along the river, seeing the wildlife that you wouldn’t normally see. The most exciting animal we saw was a kingfisher. It looked so vibrant with its blue flitting across the river. We saw a lot of dragon fly, families of swans and a few herons.

We stopped, on the way back, as the kiddies wanted to swim in the river. They are much braver than I am. I stayed safely in the canoe and watched!

We finished our day off with a yummy meal, overlooking the river and sunned our faces in the setting sunlight. It was nice to have a little rest after rowing for 8 miles.

My arms are hurting now. Think I rowed out all my anger though... it’s a good exercise to relieve tension that’s for sure. I may have to type with my chin for work tomorrow though 🤣...

Today has been a bizarre day. You may have seen on

Today has been a bizarre day. You may have seen on my blog that today the caretaker from the kiddies first school was sentenced to 5 years in prison.

He was charged with 21 crimes against children. He got 5 years. We’ve been informed we are not one of the families to fall victim to this predator. However it still doesn’t sit well...

We trusted him. I left my kiddies with him in after school clubs, parties, swimming pool parties... he helped me to set up Noah’s Halloween birthday party... the kids loved him and parents loved him. He’s broken me a little bit as I thought I was a good judge of character. He was such a lovely man.

Then I find out he’s been filming kiddies in the toilets, in his home undressing (for a pool party) and filming them in the first aid room. So he can self gratify himself! It’s disgusting.

I’m left feeling guilty and angry. I can’t stop the guilt feelings that my babies could have been in harms way. Everyday. Near a predator that preyed on the vulnerable. From the age of 4.

He’s been on bail for 2 months and everyday I’ve contemplated what I’d do if we saw him around town. The kids would naturally say hello. I think I’d be sick.

This isn’t quite an #orange post, albeit my @lilylulufashion jumper looks orangey golden in the sun. This has consumed me today!

Today has been a busy one and by 3pm I just wanted

Today has been a busy one and by 3pm I just wanted to sleep! Too many conference calls. The house was empty all day too and to be honest that felt weird. I think it added to my tiredness.

The kids cycled 15 miles around Rutland today. I am so proud of them. I love the fact they will try anything we throw at them. The past few months have shown just how resilient, hardworking and #bright they are.

They couldn’t wait to tell me all about their day; they stopped at a pub for lunch and how they cycled all that way. You could see their happiness shining through their eyes. They sparkled.

This photo is from our trip to Sea Palling the other week. It makes me happy. Another beautiful lockdown memory.

I think one of my very favourite things is a good

I think one of my very favourite things is a good #sunset. I feel so energised by the beauty and the landscape all around me.

This is the kind of photo that, if I had the skills, would become a painting on the wall. It makes me feel happy.

I think the sense of freedom that this photo captures, the colours, the patterns, the golden sun and teeny humans in the background... it’s just one of my faves.

We made our #happy today out in the fresh air. @ru

We made our #happy today out in the fresh air. @rutlandwater was lovely as there was enough space for everyone. Including the ducks and geese.

We had a scoot for an hour and then had a picnic watching the lake. We met up with some friends too, which was nice but I’m still feeling anxious about it all.

This week Daddy day care is on duty... he has lots planned with the kids. They are going to have so much fun together.

This is one way to cool off... daddy went on a bik

This is one way to cool off... daddy went on a bike ride and came back hot & sweaty. So the kiddies cooled him down with their new super water pistols. They are fab and the water travels about 7 metres. Daddy did have great pleasure in turning the hosepipe on them. He got them back!

We’ve had a nice day in the garden, #together as a family. My Mumma popped over with her partner to see us (as Hubby’s birthday is on Tuesday) and we had an afternoon with Hubby’s family.
