kids Reviews Nappy Week: Huggies Little Swimmers 8th October 20129th January 2019 Huggies sent Isla and Noah some Little Swimmers for when we were on holiday and to see us through the summer months. They are fabulous nappies for in the water and playing in the garden with our paddling pool. They feel a bit tougher than normal nappies and you can see that they will be protective against the water. They work by not swelling when in contact with the water, so leaving babies and children free to play and have fun. They also have the classic Huggies fabulous patterns and pictures on them – I'm a massive Winnie the Pooh fan! And guess what? They do extra small sizes for babies, so Isla could enjoy a swim too! There are lots of benefits of taking your babies and children swimming: Baby swimming is a fun and rewarding experience that helps build the bond between you and your baby as it centres on trust. The first year of a baby's life is crucial in terms of their development, as it is in this period that their brain grows most rapidly. Regular exercise plays a vital role in this, with every movement they make helping to strengthen their brain for new learning. Baby swimming is completely natural; having spent months surrounded by fluid in the womb, babies have a real affinity with water. Making bath times fun is a great way of getting your baby used to water and building his confidence for baby swimming. Gently splash water over his body or lay him on his back and move him gently through the water, with lots of eye contact and smiles. It is a common myth that your baby has to be a certain age before they can go swimming. The Department of Health states you can take your baby swimming at any age, so there's no need to wait until your baby has completed their course of early immunisations. Which I didn't realise until Isla was born, we booked our sunny holiday abroad and I wanted to make sure Isla was ok to swim as she'd not had any jabs (being 8 weeks old when we flew out there). So it was great to know that we could take Isla in the pool on holiday as it was pretty hot! The nappies are extremely useful and they fit like her normal disposable nappies, so you put them on the same and treat them the same – only difference is they can go in water without swelling up. MummyConstant's Nappy Summary Fit: both Isla and Noah's Little Swimmers fit perfectly like their normal nappies. They fit snugly around the legs but not too tight or uncomfortable and they do not leave marks. Style: I love the Huggies Little Swimmers, I wouldn't use any other swimming nappies. They look really cute on and they have the Huggies theme of Winnie the Pooh, which I love! Ease: they are really easy to put on: Islas were like a normal nappy, with 2 sticky tabs to hold it together and Noah's were like pants that you pull up. Islas took no time at all to put on, as it was the same as normal, but Noah's took a minute more as he's not used to pants & neither was mummy! But that wouldn't deter me from using them at all.
