Noah and The Gruffalo

Noah and The Gruffalo

This week I downloaded The Gruffalo movie from iTunes onto my iPad as the movie and the making of was only £4.99 and I like the story and now the movie :) Noah took position on the armchair, on the bump and sat intently watching The Gruffalo and was completely engrossed, I couldn't believe how engrossed he was. I had to capture it on video to show you - look at the concentration in his eyes. Also, look how amazing it is on the iPad hehe. It was so cute seeing him happily watching The Gruffalo sitting on the bump, a lovely half an hour of family time; just me, Noah and the bump, oh and The Gruffalo of course. I am glad we have had some lovely moments like this before our world is turned upside down again by the newborn :) (for the better I mean...)

36 Weeks: Bumpometer

36 Weeks: Bumpometer

I cannot believe yet another week has passed so quickly, where is all this time going? I can only assume that Noah keeps me so occupied and doesn't allow me the time to sit and ponder on the bump as much that it's just zooming past. It only seems a few weeks ago that we were having a scan and planning on telling people, it's madness. This week has been OK, no real major things happening. I am getting a lot of fetal movement and a lot of cramps, what feel like period pain. I think because of the SPD I am getting a burning feeling in my top left leg/hip area, a hot water bottle helps with that though, so that's good. I have had many more Braxton Hicks contractions, some are a lot worse than others, but nothing that compares to the real ones - I can safely ...

32 weeks: bumpometer

It certainly has been a rough start to our 32 weeks with little bump Constant, after picking up a bug Friday morning and being ill all weekend – which meant that I didn’t eat all weekend and had an unhappy bump, I am glad to say that we are all better now. Because I was 32 weeks pregnant and caught a sickness bug, I did panic quite a bit! I was worried that the baby would be hurt because of the actions of being sick and also that the bump would not get any nutrition because I wasn’t eating or keeping down anything, even water. The midwives told me to go into hospital if I didn’t start to keep down water, because they will want to check on me and make sure I am not dehydrated. Thankfully from Saturday evening, I managed to start drinking water and nibbling on food again, …

31 weeks: bumpometer

31 weeks: bumpometer

Well this week I seem to be exactly the same weight as 2 weeks ago, strange but true! I think because I am getting a lot of exercise still (despite my pelvis telling me not to) I am maintaining the same weight. At 31 weeks with Noah I started to put on a lot of weight in the last trimester and you could notice it in my face and ankles the most. Here is my 31 week bumpometer with Noah: https://mummyconstant.com/31-week-update/ I find it fascinating reading back, how I felt and thought about things in the first pregnancy and comparing it now. I hardly have time to think about being pregnant and I certainly haven't got the same problems that I had back then, just different ones. I mention back ache, getting up for a wee in the night and the pain when I walk. But when I think back to the pain ...

Noah, the Bump & The Baby Show

Noah, the Bump & The Baby Show

After Noah kindly drove us to London and our first trip on the DLR (we didn't even know what the DLR was until Saturday), we made it to the eXcel about 10:30am, which then gave us plenty of time to have a look around, enter some competitions and grab a few bargains and fabulous items that you wouldn't find on the high street. I have never been to the Baby Show before, we didn't know what to expect but as soon as I walked in to the exhibition I was pleasantly surprised. It was like Christmas coming early for Noah & the Bump! There were some amazing products on show, you know the kind that make you think "Why did I not think of that?", that I would never have seen, unless at the Baby Show; WaterBaby and their amazing pregnancy drink with Folic Acid and it tasted yummy, Shanticot and their ...

24 weeks… A Milestone!

I can’t speak for everyone but to me 24 weeks is a milestone!! From 24 weeks a little baby, if born, has a higher chance of surviving with help from the professionals. 24 weeks is the cut off for abortions (which I cannot understand how anyone would voluntary do at 23 weeks!! ) My opinion and it might be harsh, but I do not understand it! You can feel every movement at 23 weeks, it’s a rather large baby that could survive if born. Makes me sad. I know there are circumstances where people have to, which is completely different. Im just meaning those people that decide at 23 weeks that they just don’t want it anymore… Strong opinion but that’s my opinion! It’s also around the 6 month mark, 1/2 a year is a long time and a lot has happened with baby in that time. Oh and there’s 16 …
