I love, absolutely, making up stories and rhymes and the thought of writing my own storybooks is super exciting. For my birthday hubby and the kids purchased me an online course for writing storybooks for children… EXCITED! Hubby has demanded to see my first story on the shelves of Waterstones within 12 months, I had better get learning.

I think it is really exciting that you can be as creative as you want, I can sit down and make up characters and whole worlds when I tell the children bedtime stories – but I have never considered writing them down and now I will have the tools behind me to actually get something written down and planned out.

I suspect we all do it, when reading to the kids or you haven’t got a book with you and they ask for a story – your imagination runs off with itself and before you know it you have a purple and pink spotty octopus on the hunt for magic chocolate juju beans and the children are enthralled.

The other thing I am excited about is getting creative with the illustrating too as I love drawing, I am not as good as my mum and sister (who hopefully will help me) but I am looking forward to doodling on my iPad with my stylus and making my characters and little worlds come to life.

Module 1 off I trot, I will keep you posted with how it goes and what I am learning. No doubt my over creative imagination will spill out on to my blog.

This sounds so much fun! Look forward to reading your stories. One of my new years resolutions is to write a story just for fun initially. Good luck x
