I love taking photos and we got the chance to review the new instax Square SQ6 instant camera from Fujifilm recently. It is a lot of fun. You simply add the film and off you go. This is the perfect gift for a photography mad friend or family member.

It is a lot bigger than I thought it would be, but the photos that come out are so cute. I love the fact they are square. We have a photo board on the kitchen wall that these fit perfectly. It has various shooting functions which come in really handy: the typical landscape, macro but it even has a brilliant selfie mode too. The camera comes in three colours, I chose blushed gold. You can also get graphite grey and pearl white. I love the fact it comes with 3 flash filters too, you can get really creative. The instax camera costs ยฃ124.99 from Fujifilm

Adding the film

The films come in packs of 10 or you can get good deals on boxes of 20, the box of 20 usually costs ยฃ16.99. It is so easy to add the film, you simply insert it into the back of the camera and it automatically sets it up and gets it ready for use. Not like the olden days film camera where you had to match the film up in the reels. It’s a drop and go kind of camera. Brilliantly easy.

Easy to use

It is so easy to use, that even the children had a go. They wanted to take it in turns to take photos for each other on our dog walk the other day, so that they could keep the photos of themselves with the dogs. I thought that was a brilliant and lovely idea. The photos make cute little Christmas gifts too, place one in a Christmas card for someone special.

This really is the most fun we have had with a camera. I love the fact it instantly prints the photo. I also love watching it develop, which usually takes around a few minutes. What would you do with this camera if you had one? Would you take special photos for Christmas presents? I would love to know in the comments below, or on social media: @mummyconstant.

Don’t forget – you can be in with a chance of winning one of these cameras if you join in my advent competition on 12th December 2018.
