We absolutely adore BeWILDerwood, it’s one of those places that both children and adults can enjoy. We last went to this woodland of fun a couple of years ago and it was fantastic, the children were slightly shorter for some activities but this certainly wasn’t the case this year.

We were invited back to celebrate the official launch of Towering Treetop Tangles which is opposite the Sky Maze. It’s fab and you can see my run through with the kids on IGTV below:

BeWILDerwood was created by Tom Blofeld, he wrote some stories for his children and it grew from there. He created all the characters and designed all of the play areas at the woodland park. He has a superb imagination. Meeting him and talking to him sparked off something in me; I want to make time to be more creative. I love writing, drawing, music and I never make time to do these things. Not saying I will be up there making parks for people to have fun in, but I am definitely thinking about doing something creative!

Our day started off with a yummy breakfast, vegan sausages in baps, delicious, followed by a lot of coffee. We had to leave home at 6:30am to get there on time, so we were all a little sleepy first thing. We met Thornyclod, who Isla loved and we all had our faces painted.

After breakfast we went round to the new attraction, Towering Treetop Tangles, it’s full of obstacles to climb or walk across. I love the pockets of activities spread around the attraction. It is the biggest and highest of the structures at the park and Tom told me it’s not quite finished as there is more he wants to add to it over the months. How exciting?

We had a lot of fun at the foot of the structure too, playing with the tangled wooden frame. We got lots of nice photos. I love the two below the best, Noah took the one of Daddy & I. I like it because we haven’t got many photos of us together and it’s our 10 year wedding anniversary in July. Makes me smile when I think about what we have accomplished together.

One of the main things I get asked about BeWILDerwood is: “Do you have to pay for anything extra once you are in?“. The answer, quite simply, is no. Unless of course you want a coffee or a hot lunch. Included with your ticket is the boat ride, all of the activities, story telling, face painting, arts & crafts and you do not pay extra for parking! Perfect. Ticket prices are reasonable as well, they have online prices and on the gate prices – so make sure you book online before you go!

After we ventured around the new attraction we wandered off into the woods and had a full day of adventures. We zip wired, we swung, we slid down the slides, we climbed and we defeated the mazes! We had so much fun and left about 4pm after a very jam packed day of fun with the Boggles and Twiggles!

I met some lovely people and familiar faces at BeWILDerwood too, we had fun at the “look through the tangles” frame: Cookie Crumbles, RocknRoller Baby, Dinky Pix and Boo Boo & Tigger Too.

Here are some of my favourite photos from the official BeWILDerwood photographer; Andy Kahumba. That’s him in the photo above. Great shots, I love them. Isla and Noah loved Thornyclod (the spider). The photo of Isla’s happiness makes me feel happy!
