We were sent an amazing Sweet Treat Waffle Stick Maker recently to have some fun with making yummy waffle sticks. I thought it would be a brilliant way of having a dessert and getting Noah involved in making and decorating – that’s the fun part at that age!

We made our waffles, well Daddy made them in the Waffle Stick Maker and me and Noah decorated them and ate them… yum yum.

The recipe we used was a really simple one – Ingredients:

  • 250g (9 oz) plain flour
  • 1 dessertspoon baking powder
  • 2 tablespoons caster sugar
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 450ml (16 fl oz) semi skimmed milk
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
Preparation (5 mins):

1.Β In a large bowl, stir together flour, baking powder, sugar and salt. Add milk, eggs and oil; mix well.

2.Β Pour desired amount of batter onto hot waffle iron. Cook until golden brown.

The idea of this Waffle Stick Maker is so simple, you make up your waffle mixture as above and the reason the ingredients includes oil is so that it doesn’t stick to the Waffle Stick Maker.Β

You pour the desired amount in to the handy little jug, which gives just enough of the waffle mixture to fill up the 6 waffle stick spaces.

Once you have filled the spaces, you close the lid and when the light turns green your waffles should be ready. It literally took minutes to cook them, they turn a golden brown and you can take them out with tongs really easily. If they do not come out easily, then they are not cooked.

Noah enjoyed his waffles with white chocolate, banana and strawberry. Mummy enjoyed hers with similar ingredients but added a bit of chocolate sauce, it was gorgeous.

I am so impressed with how easy the mixture is to make, and quick, how quickly they cook and also, how quickly you eat them!

You can see other Sweet Treats products on the MPL Home website:Β http://www.mplhome.com/

You can buy them on the Lakeland website and they retail at about Β£22.99.

I would recommend these for dinner parties, making dessert with your family (as long as the little ones are supervised). Great fun and they taste great too, such a good idea.
