We were really lucky to check out the new look Pizza Express restaurant at Welwyn Garden City the other week, where we had a fantastic meal and we really loved the new features and design of the restaurant. I especially loved the purple patterned fabric chairs, they would look good in my house!
The entire restaurant looked fresh, clean and retro! The patterns were funky and I loved the brick styled tiles around the pillars and other areas. All over the walls and mirrors (behind the kiddies) you can see the radio style images which sets the scene the makeover, paying tribute to Murphy Radio, a locally based manufacturer which is a household name. You can see the cool waves and frequency lines on the mirror. Such a retro theme. Just up my street.
Here is a little video of our day, including our meal at Pizza Express. I think it’s really funny and as you can imagine, hectic, having dinner with two small people at the table. But they really enjoyed their meals and loved the colouring in and stickers that came to the table. It was great fun. I wanted a chef hat too!
We really enjoyed our meal, the children love the piccolo menu as there is quite a lot to choose from for them and the portions are just right. Their dough ball starter came out on a cool plate with dip and salad faces and they just loved it. I love watching them enjoying their food as sometimes they can be quite picky. They shared pizza and pasta for their main meal which was also a great idea, they both wanted both, so we split it up. The staff were really accommodating and it didn’t seem to be any trouble, despite the noise and craziness coming from my little ones.
Hubby and I really enjoyed our meals too, we tried things that we hadn’t had before. I had the aubergine to start and the new margarita bufala Romana pizza. I also had the yummiest dessert in the world: the chocolate glory. I can honestly say I love the food at this place, such great choices for the children and grown ups and the seasonal menu changes means there is always a different choice, something new and a variety of things to choose from.
