I usually follow trends when it comes to crafting and shopping, we usually use the same decorations each year: with maybe an added hanging tree decoration or 2. I get a lot of my inspiration from the dotcomgiftshop.com as there is just so many beautiful ideas. I really love the Mushroom Christmas decorations and I really love all of the ceramic decorations they have online this year. This year I will take the idea of the gingham patterned ribbon, from the mushroom decorations, to create some crafty bits for the dining table, this will help to bring the theme together for Xmas 2013.

Craft Idea

This year I am going to make Noah a Advent Calendar and I found some great inspiration from my favourite online shop: I am going to use string and pegs which I have already got in my crafting cupboard and adapt the design to make different shapes and colours for little Noah. It will help him to learn new shapes and practice his counting and colours.

The dotcomgiftshop has lots of craft decoration kits for sale at the moment, I think they are so cute and great ideas for either kids to do in the lead up to Christmas or for little gifts for kids to keep them occupied on Christmas Day (ya know, when everyone else is snoozing after lunch!). A great idea for something for the kids to do pre-Christmas is the little peg nativity scene, a great way to learn about the story of Christmas and have lots of messy fun at the same time. Something I thought would make a great gift for the smaller children in the family is the “Make your own” collection; I especially love the Make your own Winter Wonderland.

Shopping Idea

After nosing around all the shops, I have found some lovely little gift ideas for family and friends, again inspired by my favourite online gift shop! I love the bunny night light, the Medina tea light set, the Paisley Park baking moulds (in the shape of cup and saucers, so cute) and another one of my favourites Christmas gift ideas is Tea for One sets – they are just adorably cute!

You can see all of my “inspiration” on my Constant Christmas Pinterest board… ๐Ÿ™‚ There will be more blog posts to follow…
