We have always struggled with our bedtime routine, well we have since Isla has been around. She does not like to sleep. We thought, as the children got older, that the bedtime routine would get easier. It hasn’t really and so we have to try lots of different things to help get through those bedtime anxieties. I have written down some things we did when the kiddies were babies and what we do now, incase this helps any one going through similar.
Sounds like a children’s storybook title. But it’s not. I guess it was inevitable that MummyConstant would be trolled at some point, but I didn’t ever think it would be from a simple comment about chores and children. You may have seen my recent Instagram post asking for advice on what chores the children do around the house, well it caused a bit of an uproar!
Today is the first day of Spring and I am really excited about this one. I can’t remember the last time we had a garden that we really enjoyed, it was probably when Noah was a baby. So that’s 8 years ago. We’ve just not really had the right property since.
Today’s keyword for the #mummyphotoaday photo challenge, February day 18, is “skies”. I love these dramatic #skies… this sunny and cold, Winter, weather is just amazing. Everything looks like a post card or a photo of a lush landscape. But it’s just a little ole market town in Cambridgeshire! I love this photo. The kiddies and Hubby look teeny tiny…. #mummyphotoaday
…make a spaghetti bolognese! I thought it was about time I explained my sombre mood from over the past couple of weeks. Its a bit of a rant, bit of mental relief and also just because not every day is perfect. I am a half glass full kind of person but this month has been quite tough, for many reasons.
If there are any parents out there, like me, thinking there is only 6 weeks until the Summer Holidays. It is essential to plan your time. Especially if you are needing to take annual leave and book kids clubs. It is really tricky to plan quite so far in advance, you can never guarantee the weather is going to be perfect. Here are some fun activities you can do spare of the moment, any day of the holidays.
Cycling has become one of our little weekend family activities recently. It’s lovely. Little Noah has been able to ride his bike for some time now, but he’s been cycling on his smaller BMX bike that was more comfortable for him. Isla has only just started riding her bike. So as Isla was a little unsure on her feet, we thought it was maybe time to encourage Noah to go out on his larger mountain bike.
Happy. Mental Health. This is not something I have talked about often, if at all publicly. With the push to make people more aware about mental health, I thought I’d share my story. Or at least a part of it. It’s been a tough journey which started nearly 6 years ago when I had my baby girl.
