This month The Constants are going on their first family holiday as a cruise, courtesy of Carnival Cruise Line. We get to board the new Carnival Vista which launched in May and I’m so excited. The ship is huge, it amazes me and I cannot wait to see the ship in real life. I am sure it will make me feel like an ant! The ship has so much to offer including restaurants, bars including a sports bar, the first IMAX at sea, a waterpark and pools. Oh and not forgetting the Serenity adult only, relaxation area.

It’s been a busy few months tying up all the loose ends, as with any holiday its things like: getting the dogs booked into doggy day care and the cat looked after. Then it was sorting our paperwork for the flights and for the cruise. I love the fact we get to fly to our first port, I love flying so I am glad we still get to have an airport element to our holiday.

We’ve booked our excursions and I am very excited about visiting Rome and a boat trip in Marseilles. Hubby and I looked at all the ports on our Mediterranean cruise and there is so much choice of things to do. We wanted to do everything all at once! Our trip involves stops at the following places: Barcelona, Sicily, Pompeii, Rome, Pisa, Provence and Mallorca https://www.bis-space.com/library/canadian-pharmacy/.

VistaI’m getting excited about being able to relax. The kids clubs will help break the day up for the children and offer some shelter from the sunshine too. But that also gives mummy and daddy time to bask, which you cannot do as readily with small children in tow. I’m looking forward to relaxing in the spa, yes spa! I’m having a manicure done on the first day so my nails will look pretty throughout our holiday. There are special evenings where I can dress up in a nice dress, I’m looking forward to that and we’re thinking of booking the children into Night Owls on those nights so we can relax and have some grown up entertainment time! Basically I can wear heels as I won’t have to run around after the children. We can enjoy a cocktail or two, I’ve heard they do some fabulous cocktails on board.

We have booked ourselves into three restaurants whilst on our trip: JiJi Asian Kitchen, Cucina del Capitano and the Steakhouse. I have been reviewing all of the yummy menus and there is a lot of meals to choose from. This made me really happy and also very hungry! I cannot wait to get on board and try all of the various food on offer.

Over the next two weeks look out on my YouTube channel for some videos of what I am taking with me on the cruise, what I am wearing on the cruise and a fun post about what I am expecting from our first cruise. When I get back I will be posting a video on how my expectations were met and my thoughts about the cruise, along with some tips on cruising with a young family.

I have a list as long as my arm of things I want to ask Carnival about the cruise. But before I do, I thought I’d ask some questions on behalf of my readers too. Do you have any questions about cruises that I could ask the team? It’s all useful for anyone like us, who have never been on a cruise before…

Add your question or any tips for families on board a cruise ship below, or on social media using the hashtag: #chillseekingfamily.
