I love Learning Resources, we have purchased their toys for many years now, they are educational and fun. I find there is 2 sections that work best for our kids and that is the role play toys and the maths toys. The New Sprouts Camp Out set is no exception, it’s great for role play and for taking camping with us for real.

What do you get in the set?

In the set you get:

  • Duffle bag
  • Lantern
  • Hot Dog
  • Toasting fork
  • Two interlocking logs with fire
  • Marshmallow
  • Chocolate
  • Two biscuits

The duffle bag is great as it’s useful to carry all the items around, if you do want to take it on holiday. The lantern really works, it turns from a torch into a lantern, perfect for role playing as the nights are drawing in. The hot dog and marshmallow fit on the toasting fork, which is fun for the kiddies. The campfire breaks up too, so you can have it without the fire and with. Again, the kids have a choice. Then there is a little sweet treat – chocolate and biscuits. The kiddies put them together to make smores. Yummy.

Imaginative play with the camp set

The children have really enjoyed using all the items, they have been pretending they are making a real camp fire. It was funny watching them try to touch the fire, but it was too hot. Great imaginative play. They have some experience of camp fires from Beavers and our family camping holidays, so they knew exactly what to do. I love the fact the items in the set are well made, great quality and really squidgy. It’s quite therapeutic squeezing them.
