A bit of fun in our healthy lunchboxes

All the posts recently and social media feeds have been focussed on back to school, my little ones are a little young for that but this time next year I will preparing my to do lists and stocking up on lunch items and school uniform. It got me thinking back to when I was at school and what my mumma used to pack in my school lunches, Capri-Sun popped to mind. I used to love them and now I can share that with my children, they love them too. Not only are they fun but they make for healthy lunchboxes and they are refreshing too, what could be a better choice for lunch?

My children love picking at foods, rather than sandwiches and traditional lunches like that – if I prepare them a sandwhich they will simply pull the sandwhich apart and eat it all separately. So I like to put their lunches into little pockets so they can pick at it all, making sure that there is always a selection of the things they love as well as making sure it is a healthy choice too: crackers and cheese, healthy toddler snacks, fromage frais, dried fruit and their favourite orange drink.

Tesco have an end of aisle promotion for Capri-Sun at the moment, just in case any locals to the St Neots store cannot find them easily, they are at the end of the drinks aisle opposite the cereals. We do all of our shopping at Tesco, but I am lucky that we do not have to take the children at the moment, it would be a nightmare doing the big shop with them and as the store is 24 hours (except Sundays and bank holidays of course) we can do the shop anytime of the day – Daddy usually does it when the little ones are in bed. I was amazed at the variety of flavours and packs available, I remember there being just orange available when I was at school and now there are so many flavours: orange, blackcurrant, summer berries, apple, tropical, apple & cherry, mango and safari fruits drink.
