It’s hard to find someone who doesn’t love chocolate. They’re out there, but they’re probably a minute minority, at least according to common sense and most of the surveys that have been done on the topic. Why does any of this matter? Because we’re all chocolate lovers here, and the chocolate haters most likely represent no more than 2% of the population, so their opinion is mute. Well then, now that we’ve established our taste dominance over all the non chocolate eaters of the world, let’s have some fun checking out seven of the coolest places for chocolate lovers in America:

1. Hershey’s Chocolate World, Las Vegas

Let’s face it, when most of us say we’re “grabbing a chocolate bar” at the store, there’s a good chance it is going to be a product of Hershey’s, and when we’re talking about some of the coolest places in America, how do you not mention the Las Vegas strip? Hershey’s Chocolate World at the New-York-New York Hotel in Las Vegas is probably the biggest chocolate store you’ll ever see. We’re talking about 13,000 square feet and two stories holding a diverse chocolate selection that is hard to match. There’s also an 800lb chocolate Statue of Liberty on display at all times – pretty cool.

2. The Theo Chocolate Factory, Seattle

If you’re more of a puritan and you’re in the Pacific Northwest, you might consider a trip to the Theo chocolate factory in Seattle, Washington. They pledge to only use organic, GMO-free, and Fair Trade ingredients in all of their products. The factory gets about 50,000 visitors a year, and in addition to tours they also offer classes that teach you how to make your own artisan chocolates at home.

3. Recchiuti Confections, San Francisco

If you’re in the Bay Area looking for a local chocolatier/artisan chocolate shop, consider stopping by Recchiuti Confections located inside the Ferry Building. They make a variety of confections, including sauces, truffles, fruit and nut mixes, and their best selling Fleur de Sel Caramels dipped in dark chocolate. The location is also pretty nice, being that you can grab some chocolates and then hop on a Ferry for a scenic ride.

4. Valerie Confections, Los Angeles

In 2004, Valerie Confections launched as a small boutique serving chocolate-dipped toffee near the downtown area of L.A. They’ve since expanded their selection to include pastries, cakes, preserves, and other artisan sweets. They’re known for having delicious petits flours, but they also have excellent mendiants, truffles, and of course their signature toffees.

5. Cocoanuts, Boston

This artisan chocolate shop in Boston’s North end area offers a wide selection of chocolates from national and local chocolatiers as well as health bars, nut mixes, and specialty snacks. If you stop by on tasting day you can try a sample of one of their products at no charge. In terms of quality and selection, there aren’t many shops in New England that can compete.

6. Maison Roberts Fine Chocolates, Atlanta

This small shop in Atlanta, Georgia has been offering up some of the South’s best chocolates and pastries for more than 3 decades. Their confection menu consists of a variety of different fondants, truffles, marzipans, florentines, and meringue balls, just to name a few. Their pastry selection is also not to be overlooked with eye-catching products like French macarons and fruit tartelettes.

7. The Chocolate Bar, Houston

If you’re ever in the great state of Texas looking for the best chocolate around, check out The Chocolate Bar in Houston. They have two locations in the Houston area – one in Monroe and the other in West University Place. Aside from their impressive made-from-scratch chocolates, they also have homemade ice cream, pies, cookies, and cakes. Their selection of chocolates is really unparalleled by anything in the surrounding area, and they even offer frozen hot chocolate – that’s hard to come by.

Savor the Experience

Visiting the locations mentioned above can provide some of the most enjoyable chocolate eating experiences you’ll ever have, so be sure to take the time to savor the moment. Take a selfie and post it on social media. Share it with all your friends while delighting in chocolate-dipped delicacies. Let the chocolate melt slowly to get the full flavor, and don’t hesitate to try some things you’ve never had before. Overall, if you’re going out of your way to see one of these places, remember to take your time, have fun, and enjoy the chocolate!

Dark chocolate also has a low glycemic index, meaning it won’t cause huge spikes in blood sugar levels.
