Thanks to the technology world, it has become much easier to find and land your dream part-time job. There are apps to help you in each stage of the process ranging from creating your professional profile, practicing answering interview questions by doing something other than talking to yourself in a mirror (though that it is still a great method!), to having a convenient way to follow-up and leave a great impression after an interview, which can be very underestimated.

LinkedIn

With over 467,000,000 global registered members, LinkedIn is certainly a hot spot for job seekers. This app enables you to have an online profile (a glorified CV, if you will), network, give and receive recommendations, participate in groups and more.

Once you create a free account remember to set your location, create a tagline and a distinct URL. You can share your LinkedIn information on your CV and a distinct URL will look much better to recruiters, hiring managers and anyone else checking out your profile.

Jobrapido

Jobprapido helps you to find the openings available in your area so you can match your dream part-time job with the right opportunity. As the company says, “We take the work out of looking for work!”. On the app, as well as on their website, you can search available opportunities by location and using keywords such as profession, job title or diploma anywhere in the UK from Dundee, located very North, to Portsmouth, in the South. You can also set specific criteria to look for and then Jobrapido will scour job boards for the right match and notify you of opportunities that match your preferences.

VisualCV

VisualCV helps you make the most of the 6 seconds you have as a recruiter reviews your CV. With VisualCV, you can stand out amongst other CVs using your preferred design with your profile picture, portfolio, work samples, presentations and more.

After you create your visual curriculum, you can email it directly to a recruiter as a PDF or forward the URL. The app also has analytics that can update you when your CV is viewed or downloaded.

Job Interview Pro

Job Interview Pro is a great tool to help you ace your interview. On the app, there are practice interview questions that you can work through, in order to improve with your responses and become more confident with your delivery. It has 80 interview questions to practice with and some suggestions on how to answer them.

Felt

After your interview, the Felt app helps you create a personalized follow-up. Instead of scrambling to find a thank you note in your study or trying to make an email as personal as possible, create and mail a thoughtful note using Felt. On the app you can choose a card background, select pen and ink colors of your choice, and then write your note using your stylus or finger. Once you have created your card, Felt organizes the printing and mailing for you. Within two to five business days, your interviewee will receive the personalized card.

The convenience and assurance of a personalized follow-up with Felt is $3.99 per card.

Combining apps to aid your job hunt is a sure way to reduce the stress that goes into finding and landing your next job. It is hard to find a job, so make it a bit easier on yourself by taking advantage of the technology out there to help you.
