The toys in this house are everywhere. It’s the smallest ones that cause me the most problems though: Lego! We’ve all seen that doodle online where the Mum is stepping on Lego all the time. That’s our house. Noah is a typical boy, loves his Lego and Cars. Isla loves her dolls and soft toys. Keeping them all tidy is hard work, so I like to make life easy by having the right storage.
You guessed it, L.O.L Surprise! have kicked off the year with series 3: Confetti Pop. There are 9 new dolls to collect in a fabulous new designed ball, with a popping surprise element to it. It’s great fun, I love watching Isla’s face as she unravels the layers of these sell out toys.
If you’re a mum, at some stage you probably began to get the hang of planning ahead, time-management and preparing for rainy days. Trying to stay ahead of things and make sure that you have all of the essentials you need for your household and your kids can often result in you having more than you need. This could mean that you’ve got one too many baby bags for a ‘rainy day’, or an excessive number of unworn clothing items that are collecting dust. Whatever the case may be, unused items can turn into a nuisance with time as they become redundant and take up unnecessary space. That’s why this article will list four forms of clutter that you’re more than likely to have if you’re a mum.
What better way to celebrate National Chocolate Cake Day (27th January) than to bake our very own chocolate cake. Inspired by Isla’s love of Num Noms. We received a hamper of goodies to decorate our cakes and a Series 4 deluxe pack of Num Noms. Isla was very, very excited. Below is Isla’s creation (one vegetarian and one not):
I find it hard to get out shopping, so I frequently miss the trends or what is hot in the shops. I like to find out what is popular, or too cool for school! So I thought I would put together this helpful list of great toys for children this Christmas. They are not expensive and a variety of toys for primary school ages. So here is the 2017 toy gift guide:
If there is one board game to get this Christmas, it’s Disney’s “Guess the film”. We are huge Disney fans, so it is perfect for us. This is THE game for a Disney fan, whether you grab it to play when the family are together on Christmas Day or buy it for someone. I think Jumbo Games have done a fabulous job with this game, it’s lots of fun.
There will come a time in the year, most likely after Christmas, where you will want to start thinking about having a clear out at home. We did this last weekend and I asked the children to choose some fabulous toys to take to charity, to help make another child’s Christmas a happy one. You will want to get rid of your old possessions and pieces of furniture, ready to make room for all the new things you received during the festive season. However, when it comes to clearing out your home, you will also want to get the kids involved and get rid of their old toys.
My children are in love with PJ Masks, they have won them over, completely. So when I was asked if we wanted to review the new DVD (the very first DVD too), I just knew what the kiddies would say! If you haven’t seen PJ Masks you will find it on Disney JR. My kiddies are still loving this channel and we always have to put PJ Masks on after school.
We were sent this really fun and educational toy from Chad Valley: the interactive world map. It has fun facts about 19 countries across the world and a built in quiz function too. It is a handy size and weight that it can be taken almost anywhere, perfect to entertain children on a long journey! It gets a big thumbs up from Noah.
Do you ever find there are some days when the kids just need some fresh air? It’s always good to get them out, even if it’s for 30 minutes. Getting fresh air and exercise, even if it’s for 30 minutes after school, is great for a healthy lifestyle. There are lots of things you can do that make it fun too! Being fit and healthy doesn’t need to be hard work.
