Summer seems to have come early with the hottest April since 1949, and if you’re like most people, you’ll be considering getting out the barbecue and potentially heading out on a road trip. Indeed, when the sun has got his hat on, England can be a great place to live and travel – yet despite the weakened pound, many families are still jetting off abroad in search of guaranteed sunshine, both to Europe and more faraway places like America.
If you want to get more use out of your garden, lighting it properly will help you to do so. With the right lights, you will be able to continue to cook, eat, read and watch TV outdoors long after the sun has gone down. Plus, the kids will be able to continue to play in the garden for longer, after school. The cost of garden lighting fixtures has come down quite a bit, as has the cost of running them once they are installed. In fact, if you choose the right type of lights, they can literally cost you very little to run.
We love getting our Baker Ross craft boxes, especially this time of year as you get the pretty flowers and the Mothers Day goodies. The Spring craft box is always a good one to get stuck into on the rainy days, or the days where it’s just a little too cloudy for going outside. We had so much fun making, I love seeing that concentration on her face.
Spring is such a beautiful time – in fact, I think it might even be my favourite time of the year. There’s a special kind of aroma and feel in the air; the trees are starting to get new leaves, the flowers are starting to bloom – and all around you, people just seem to have that little bit of a spring in their step! I always look forward to spring, especially because spring heralds the time when I can get my bike out of storage and start pedalling to work again. The warmer days are such a treat, and I always get to work in the best mood when I ride. I want to share with you all top seven ways to put a spring in your step so that you make the most of this beautiful time of year. These tips are brought to you by the perpetual bringers of spring, Melbourne florists, Oollie Flora.
I jumped at the chance of reviewing one of House of Fraser’s handbags, especially with the new season starting soon, supposedly. I have Spring in my mind and beautiful bright colours. There are many beautiful clutch bags on the House of Fraser website, but the coral colour really stood out to me. I love this colour at the moment and it seems to be everywhere, which is great! I completely fell in love with this Ted Baker Nara red cross body bag, it can be used as an over the shoulder bag and a clutch bag.
What better way to start off the Easter holidays than by getting together with friends and doing the National Trust, Cadburys Easter Egg hunt. Destination of choice Anglesey Abbey. It’s the second time we have done it there and both have been brilliant fun, Good Friday just happened to be extremely sunny and quite warm too – which was fabulous.
I didn’t realise it was the first day of Spring on Sunday, until we got home from a trip to Home Farm at Wimpole Hall, a lovely National Trust estate near us. What a perfect way to spend the start of Spring, running around a beautiful location full of flowers and baby animals of course. The kids had a great time exploring and playing on the tractors.
I get the itch to redecorate, move the furniture around and de-clutter quite frequently. I would say at least once every few months I will focus on something to make it look “better”. Now we are moving in to Spring, I am getting the urge to create a clean living space. I want something that I can relax in, that isn’t full of toys and dog chews. Something that can be my little space. Maybe something with a little sparkle, like the Pirce Artemide collection from LampCommerce.
Up until the 21 February 2016, Debenhams have a fantastic offer “customers will receive a free gift bag when they purchase two or more Clinique products (one to be skincare)”. Not just any gift bag, a really lovely bag full of sample products that will come in handy for travelling or if you just want to try out some of their lovely skincare and makeup ranges.
It’s been a while since I have participated in #CountryKids, I couldn’t resist this weekend. We went for a lovely walk in the woods yesterday and I managed to get some lovely photos. This is what October is all about in my opinion. Coats on, snuggly hats on and wellies of course. Fresh, crisp air and mountains of brown, crispy leaves to jump in.
