I love this game and so do the kiddies. We get everyone to play it with us when they come round too. It’s a quick fire round game where you have to guess what is on your head band. Clues in the name of the game (Hedbanz)… It’s really quick paced, fun and gets the children to think creatively about how they might ask questions.
I love this recipe, it is great to get the kids involved at Easter time and you can decorate the cakes as creatively as you like. It’s also better as it uses honey not golden syrup. When I received the Easter Goody Bag from Hotel Chocolat it instantly made me think of cornflake cakes with a bunny on top. I also loved the goody bag as there are chocolates for the grown-ups too!
I know, its half way through the year and no where near Christmas, but I am already thinking about my favourite things. My favourite food combinations at Christmas are: turkey, cranberry and cheeses! It doesn’t have to be December for me to enjoy a turkey, stuffing and cranberry sauce sandwich. This inspired me for a new recipe: a summer twist on a winter favourite. I had never tried it before and I was pleasantly surprised with it’s outcome.
I absolutely love victoria sponge cakes: they are quick and easy to make and taste delicious with a cup of tea. The sponge mix in this recipe is so light and fluffy, it is perfect and if you are in a hurry – don’t worry! This took me an hour to make, I left it to cool for half an hour and then added the filling. I used a brilliant product to get this cake done quickly, Tesco do the Betty Crocker ready made icing and buttercream, so when I saw the vanilla buttercream style icing, I couldn’t resist making a wonderful cake to have with it.
The other week I had the pleasure of going to London to film with Onken and share a really simple recipe idea that hubby devised. The kids love natural yoghurt and honey but hubby wanted to make it more grown up, so he added a twist. You can Win with Onken too by buying their natural yogurt in the supermarket and visiting their website.
This is a really tasty meal that you can make really quickly over the Easter holidays, we love it with basmati rice and natural yoghurt. You could have it with salad and new potatoes, or put it in a warm tiger bread roll with a dollop of natural yoghurt on top. It is really tasty. We used Tesco lean turkey mince to make our Cajun dish, we had never cooked with turkey mince before. It tastes a lot better and is not as greasy, I really enjoyed the dish. I prefer using turkey mince now, instead of beef.
