We spent the first half of our Easter holidays in Gunthorpe, Norfolk. It wasn’t quite the weather we had last Easter, but we did get one whole day of dry. We went away with friends and stayed in a beautiful cottage, Clare Cottage, that we hired from Norfolk Country Cottages. It was the perfect way to relax, ready for the last term of school.
Making the most of our beautiful cottage and its grounds, screamed out for a legendary Easter egg hunt. I was quite proud of the final hunt, albeit it didn’t work out the way I had planned. I don’t suppose it will with a 7, 5, 4 & 2 year old! We had fun though and the kiddies enjoyed finding the eggs as much as I did hiding them. I think I am a natural at playing Easter bunny…

Isla loves her Num Noms, she really wants to collect the entire set. We didn’t realise there was new nail varnishes to collect in Series 4, Polish-it Noms. We had a fun craft afternoon after our Num Noms Easter hunt. The girls had a lot of fun searching for the collectibles all over the house. Then had some quiet time crafting in our playroom.
I love chocolate and I also love wine, I didn’t realise that wine was a good accompaniment for chocolate until GiftsOnline4U sent me this thorough infographic. From Asti to Port there is a chocolate Easter egg for each. You can plan your Easter meal dessert appropriately, according to your favourite chocolate.
We were asked to set up the best Easter Sunday fun for our family using the products on the John Lewis website. There is so much choice, my imagination ran wild. I had so many ideas and I wanted to share them.
This is a brilliant recipe for adding a little spice and fruit to your Easter baking. I like the recipe as it’s a subtle drop of spice and yummy currants, the decoration is fun for the children and you can have these finished off within the hour. Isla enjoyed decorating the biscuits and eating the chocolate icing too, who wouldn’t? Dr Oetker have many Easter recipes online if you want to try some Easter baking with the children this weekend.
This year we have gone away with friends and what better way to celebrate this joyful Easter season than to recreate the fabulous Cadbury’s Great British Egg Hunt, at home? We usually do the National Trust Cadbury’s egg hunt, Anglesey Abbey is our favourite as you get to explore the wonderful grounds. At home, it’s not so vast but we still had a lot of fun exploring and finding.
This is one of the yummiest recipes I have ever used for making those chewy cookies, you know the ones, like you get at good coffee shops or in the freshly baked section at supermarkets. This recipe also uses up all that chocolate you get from Easter eggs and a packet of Mini Eggs too. Obviously.
