I love finding new recipes to make, sometimes twists on old recipes too. This is one of my favourite bakes and I love lemon drizzle cake. I baked it to eat with a cup of tea and watch the Great British Bake Off. It is very yummy so you really need to try it. We made some lovely nature themed biscuits, leaf shapes and snails. The colours didn’t come out very well, next time I’ll try gel colours! But you get the idea. I love the inspiration that can come from certain themes. We cut leaf shapes with a knife and rolled up sausages to make our colourful snails.

The other week I had the pleasure of going to London to film with Onken and share a really simple recipe idea that hubby devised. The kids love natural yoghurt and honey but hubby wanted to make it more grown up, so he added a twist. Watching endless cookery programmes never seems to bore us and with Masterchef, Saturday Kitchen and Come Dine With Me all leaving us hungry and inspired to try out our culinary skills, we need to be sure that we are not doubling our energy bills with all the added oven time.
We are very lucky to have great friends, that are great cooks and we were invited over for a pizza making session for the children to make their own pizza’s and then eat them afterwards. They really enjoyed it and the pizza’s looked, smelt and tasted absolutely beautiful.
