We felt so lucky to visit Boot Cottage in Iken a couple of weeks ago. We had an amazing weekend chilling in the Suffolk Countryside. As staycations go, it was by far a memorable one. Suffolk Cottage Holidays are all about the countryside cottages to encourage outdoor fun with families and that’s exactly what we got. If I could of moved in forever, I think I would have. It was so peaceful, it was great to emerge myself into the present, mindfulness at it’s best.

In and around Boot Cottage

The cottage was just amazing. It is everything I want in a home. The outside space was vast and incredible. I soaked up the fresh air and breeze blowing in my face as much as I could. Also, the peace and quiet. Not a car to be heard. Just cows mooing to each other or the farmer zooming down the country lanes. When I say the cottage is remote, it really is, at least 3 miles off a main road. And by main road I mean a B road. It’s not too far away from shops and life though, just a perfect distance if you want some quiet time really.

There are 2 bedrooms in this cottage, both with en suites. The major appeal to me was that the master bedroom and main bedroom join together with a door/curtain. Both bedrooms have their own set of stairs you see. The twin bedroom had a shower en suite and the master bedroom had a beautiful slipper bath. Which is now on my to buy list when we get our own house. The kitchen had a beautiful butler sink and had everything you needed. There was a quaint dining room and lounge, but we barely used it as we ate outside and played outside as much as possible. The garden was amazing. Have I said that already? Please watch the video below which has a little tour of the cottage and some fun that we got up to in the garden:

The Suffolk Countryside

The cottage was deep in the heart of the countryside, we had forests at one side, the river at another and Snape Maltings which was close too. We had something spectacular to look at every which way you turn. Amazing spots for picnics and just breathtaking views. Suffolk is beautiful and we will definitely be going back there as soon as we get the chance. We really enjoyed a nice walk at Tunstall Forest, we followed a nice trail and managed to pick some blackberries for our dessert. Daddy and Noah hired a canoe from Iken Canoes, they went up the river and managed to get to Snape bridge which had some lovely views too.

Our holiday break in photos

These are some of my favourite photos of our break in Suffolk, I would definitely recommend it for families. Lots to do and outdoor fun is at your finger tips.
