Daddy has mastered the vegan gravy recipe by Jamie Oliver and this year he made a big batch up just before Christmas so that we could freeze it. It is the yummiest gravy I have ever tasted that I am confident even meat eaters would find it delicious. It’s a win win as everyone can eat it.

Daddy made up the gravy in our big stock pot and then we used our new Foodsaver Vacuum Sealer to split it into bags and freeze it in portions. We have quite a few Christmas dinners planned over this period and so they have come in very handy. It is really easy to use. You simply spoon the amount of gravy you would like into the bags, provided with the machine and then you line the bag up into the machine so that the end falls into the drip tray of the vacuum sealer. Once it’s in place you press the power button and after around a couple of minutes the bag deflates from air.

Once the air is removed the machine seals the bag, the contents will not leave the bag. It is very clever. Simply label the bags and put them in the freezer.

Vegan Gravy recipe from Jamie Oliver

Hubby bases his gravy on Jamie Oliver’s Christmas vegan gravy recipe, it is full of flavour and completely delicious. It is perfect if you have both vegetarians, vegans and meat eaters around the table.
