Over Easter, Cath Kidston stores across the UK invited customers to participate in Gnome painting workshops. To celebrate Easter and to also celebrate the new Gnome Cath Kidston print, which is really cute and perfect for green fingered folk! We were sent a craft pack with our very own Gnomes to paint and sparkle, also some beautiful aprons – including the Gnome print apron.
What you will need?
To create your very own Gnomes, you will need:
How to decorate your Gnomes
The first stage was to give our Gnomes some colour using the paint pens, be warned these pens are really hard to get off, they have stained the lovely, red spotty oil cloth that Cath Kidston sent us. But that is what it is there for!
Using the paint pens colour in the Gnomes as you wish, Isla decided to go for the “every inch covered” look and Noah used his year reception colouring skills and they looked really good. I made a Daddy Gnome, which Daddy thought was very funny! It’s very therapeutic colouring in these Gnomes.
After we had finished using the paint pens on our Gnomes, we left them to dry. They looked very smart:
The second stage is to use the glue and glitter and make the Gnomes sparkle. Isla had great fun covering her Gnome in glitter and it really did have every inch covered. I gave Daddy a sparkly jumper and hat. It was good to get messy, especially with all these rainy days we have had recently.
I am quite proud of our finished product, they look smart and I love the sparkles. Noah has gone for minimalist sparkle, whereas Isla has gone for entire coverage. They had lots of fun making their Gnomes, great to have something to do on these rainy Spring days.
You may have noticed a lot of talk about Gnomes across Cath Kidston’s social media over the past month, see if you can spot #GnorrisTheGnome when you are next browsing Twitter or Facebook!
