I do love a challenge. Wayfair tasked me to transform a part of my home with an “into the woods” theme, ready for Christmas. It’s amazing how a small amount of items can completely transform a space. I decided to focus on the hallway and dining area as we will be hosting for a lot of guests this Christmas. Somewhere to hang coats has always been an issue and I do love a pretty dining table. I hope you enjoy the tour of my new hallway and dining area…

When Wayfair gave me the theme of into the woods it made me think about wreaths, garlands, rattan and wooden decorations. The aim for me was to make the hallway look Christmassy and make use of the space at the bottom of the staircase. It used to have my large mirror there and now it has a lovely rack for coats and shoes – which is perfect for guests to hang their coats over Christmas.

We’ve wanted a rug in the hallway for months now and we finally got round to it, it’s nice to walk on a warm rug in the mornings instead of the tiles. It really feels a lot more welcoming now. The dark tones also work well with the woodland theme.

My dining table looks beautiful and very pretty and I love the natural placemats with the garland. The table looks wintery and very into the woods. The table cloth brings a nice green tone to the table too, I like the fact it is a small table cloth and you can still see the natural table coming through. It works well with the red floral wallpaper in the kitchen too!
