What’s in a look? If in doubt, ask a celebrity. If beauty and looking the business are your stock in trade which fills your personal coffers to the brim, then facial acupuncture has understandably become the treatment of choice for the celebrity class, from actors to models to musicians.
Cast your mind back a bit, showbiz fans. If you do, you might recall Spain’s number one Hollywood A-lister Penelope Cruz making an enigmatic red carpet appearance some time ago with a smattering of tiny needles in her ears. Fashion statement? Well, sort of.
Penelope’s appearance sent the paparazzi cameras into even more of a flashbulb-fuelled tailspin than usual, as the moment became a subtle endorsement by the global big screen superstar of the benefits of acupuncture.
Celebrities who want to retain their box office staying power by taking the natural route to physical self-improvement have been plumping in ever-greater numbers for the wonders of acupuncture.
The process’ renowned soft power to combat stress, maintain a healthy glow of the skin, keep weight worries under control and even troubleshoot fertility issues has made acupuncture very much a leading choice for discerning stars. Fake remedies and the dubious practice of going under the knife have, we’re happy to announce, very much drifted out of vogue among the high-living and the glamorous Hollywood set.
Jennifer’s still looking central perky
Former Friends actress and film star Jennifer Aniston is one such famous devotee of the virtues and power of acupuncture. And doesn’t Jen always look just great? Her age-defying natural look is always greeted with astonishment and admiration. But there’s no box of tricks involved with La Aniston; just a combination of good genes and a wholesome adherence to the natural virtues of the effective and ancient practice of acupuncture.
Other notable celebrity exponents whose perennial youthful glow show up every time as a superlative testimony to acupuncture’s holistic mind and body routine are ever-sheening, guru-esque superstar Gwyneth Paltrow, and that preternaturally ageless sometime supermodel, the (incredibly) fiftysomething Elle MacPherson.
And among the star boys, Hollywood star Matt Damon is another A-lister acolyte. Bourne again, is Matt, you could say. Now you know why Matt Damon is one of those actors whose age is always a challenge to pinpoint, if you’ll let that pun go just this once. The way he looks we’d have him down around 34-ish, although he’s definitely somewhat more.
Kim’s big hello to acupuncture
Ah yes, the Kardashians. Well, the most famous one, anyway. Jump back a few years to 2013, when the never-knowingly under-publicised Kim Kardashian gave a tacit endorsement to the huge benefits of facial acupuncture, when she posed for a fly-on-the-wall pampering session in Hello! Magazine, with 19 tiny needles in her face.
At the time, consummate pap-magnet Kim was believed to have chosen facial acupuncture for its beneficial properties in fighting off morning sickness. That’s what Hello! Magazine said at the time, anyway.
And as for other top celebrities for whom acupuncture is their chosen path to inner and outer beautification and health: word up of course for the luminous earth mother Angelina Jolie who attributes medical reasons for her choice of acupuncture treatments plus one-time bad-boy, the newly-serene Robert Downey Jnr, who are both on record extolling the virtues of all things acupuncture.
Another notable celeb who over the years might have kept you guessing is the ever-lovely Sandra Bullock. Have you ever wondered how the one-time Miss Congeniality actress Sandra Bullock always oozes the natural glow and health-bursting demeanour of someone 20 years her junior?
Well, wonder no more; Sandra Bullock, too, is a serious celebrity acupuncture devotee who naturally – and with a great deal of success – remains committed to rolling back the years. And it shows.
