As some of you may have seen, Carnival Cruise Lines took the Fun Seeking Mummies for afternoon tea to the very luxurious The Berkeley hotel in Knightsbridge yesterday. It was a great opportunity to meet the other bloggers taking part again, discuss the cruise details and the plans for when we are aboard our fabulous holiday. It’s amazing how close it seems to the day we set sail.
Over a bed of sandwich’s, cakes, champagne and tea, we discussed everything from the locations we will be visiting on the cruise to some of the routine things we will do on a cruise ship. We have never been on a cruise before, so it was great to learn about these things and also pick up some tips along the way. For example some people buy a snazzy lanyard to keep their door keys in, as when you are on the ship that is all you need, we will not need cash.
The Carnival Vista is only a month away from being a complete, ready to sail, ship. Its maiden voyage is set to embark on May 1, 2016 from Trieste, Italy on a 13 day Europe Cruise that ends in Barcelona, Spain. We had a discussion about some of the fabulous restaurants, bars and activities there are on board. Also, I learnt that the kids club is available for the children so that me and my husband can do an excursion, some of the hotter countries might be a bit much for the children. So it was a great relief to hear that we can mix it up across the cruise, family days and grown up time. It is very exciting.
The cakes at Pret-a-portea are all designed around Fashion week. The Berkeley send someone out to see all the cat walk styles and bring the designs home with the idea of turning them into cakes and biscuits. We had shoe style bicuits to match Dolce and Gabbana and we had victoria sponge in the shape of Valentino handbags, it was incredible. Such fantastic detailing and they really did resemble the fashion items too.
So over the next few months I will be writing and vlogging about our feelings, announcing the cruise “properly” to the children and I will be exploring cocktail recipes so that I can get on the ship and enjoy the array of cocktails that they have. It’s very exciting. I will also be looking at the excursions and countries we will be exploring, learning about some of the history and also geography (which isn’t my strong point). Excited, is an understatement! If you would like to look at the cruise ship, please visit the Carnival Cruise Lines website www.carnival.co.uk.
